Matt Jones is a certified physician assistant who graduated as the President of his class in 2014 at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, earning his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree with a minor in Health Education at the University of Houston, graduating in 2006. He has completed several clinical rotations, including one in pediatrics at Little Buddies Pediatric Clinic in San Antonio, two in emergency medicine, at Baptist Health System in San Antonio at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield, one in inpatient services at University Hospital in San Antonio, one in general surgery at University Hospital, two in family medicine, at Community Family Medicine in San Antonio and Kellum Family Medicine in San Antonio, one in orthopedics at Guadelupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, and one in obstetrics and gynecology at Laredo Women’s Center.
A natural people person, Matt finds deep fulfillment in his role as a caregiver. He enjoys meeting new people and establishing long-term relationships. He completed a medical mission in Costa Rica, and he has also volunteered his time at Keep San Antonio Beautiful, the March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, and Haven for Hope. In the future, he hopes to do a stint with Doctors without Borders as well.
When Matt is not hard at work, he enjoys mountain biking, running, listening to music, visiting vineyards and breweries, hanging out with friends, and traveling.
