COVID-19 TESTING

Full Spectrum Emergency Room & Urgent Care is pleased to announce the availability of the following tests:

Rapid Antigen (COVID-19) Testing

*FDA Emergency Use Authorization

The Sofia SARS Antigen FIA tests for the Coronavirus Antigen. Antigen tests are designed to detect protein from the virus that cause COVID-19 in respiratory specimens, for example nasal swabs.

The Sofia SARS Antigen Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) uses advanced immunofluorescence-based lateral flow technology in a sandwich design for qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein from SARS-CoV-2. The Sofia SARS Antigen FIA, provides automated and objective results in 15 minutes, allowing for testing of patients suspected of COVID-19/2019-nCoV in near-patient testing environments.

Our Urgent Care offers the antigen test in-house with our CLIA waived laboratory license.

SARS CoV-2 RNA (COVID-19), PCR Swab

*FDA Emergency Use Authorization

The SARS-CoV-2 RT PCR is designed to detect the virus that causes COVID-19 in respiratory specimens. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test requires a nasopharyngeal swab from the nares to detect the presence of the COVID-19 infection. As such, it is well-adjusted to detect COVID-19 infection early.

This type of testing is considered the “Gold Standard” for testing COVID-19 infections. Our Emergency Room offers the PCR test in-house with our moderate complexity lab for rapid detection and treatment. Our Urgent Care is able to provide PCR testing via reference lab with results available in 24-48 hours through a patient portal.

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) IgG Antibody

*FDA Emergency Use Authorization

Blood-based serology testing may assist in the identification of persons who have previously been exposed to the virus and developed an IgG immune response. SARS-CoV-2 IgG antiviral antibodies may be detected in the serum and plasma samples of infected patients 7–10 days after infection. Serological tests may be used as an adjunct to clinical presentation and history in the assessment of patients who may have been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 virus or seroconverted following COVID-19 infection. Our Urgent Care is able to provide antibody testing via reference lab with results available in 24-48 hours through a patient portal.
