Dr. Aaron Matlock


Emergency Physician

Dr. Matlock is a 2008 graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  Following medical school, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army and completed residency in emergency medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 2011.  Dr. Matlock was then assigned as teaching faculty at Madigan until 2015, holding various positions including Medical Student Clerkship Director and Assistant Residency Director.  In 2012, Dr. Matlock deployed to Afghanistan, serving as Battalion Surgeon with an Infantry battalion.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and recipient of the Army Bronze Star Medal and Combat Medical Badge.

After leaving active duty in 2015, Dr. Matlock moved back to his native Texas to live and work in San Antonio.  He joined the staff at Full Spectrum at The Rim in August, 2017 and has thoroughly enjoyed the individualized attention and care he is able to give each patient at our facility.  In addition to his work at Full Spectrum at The Rim, Dr. Matlock remains involved in academic emergency medicine, holding an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Health and Sciences Center and works regularly with Army and Air Force residents at San Antonio Military Medical Center.


Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Matlock is an avid home cook, always seeking to expand his culinary skills.  His favorite days are spent exploring San Antonio with his wife, Theresa and baby daughter, Pepper.
